Elmo in Pearland
It's Official
Well, three years almost to the day I hung up my work heels, I am taking them back down. Aramark sent me an offer I couldn't refuse. I will be riding the rail to Methodist Hospital as their new Assistant Catering Manager starting Monday June 25th. The offer also included a ton of great benefits for us including full coverage insurance and a matching 401K. I am very excited, but maybe not as excited as Jeremy. Every now and then he just starts dancing a little jig around the house when he doesn't think I can see. We are touring schools this afternoon hoping to find the perfect one for our sweet little angel. I asked him if he wanted to go to a new school and he got all excited and jumping around, so I am not really worried about him to much. Mommy on the other hand has been a little weepy (or maybe sobbing constantly is a better word for it). I think I just feel a little guilty because I am excited to get back to work, OH YAH AND I AM GOING TO MISS MY LITTLE SIDE KICK LIKE CRAZY. So when you see me next just ask me about my new career and not what I am going to do with Gaven unless you are prepared with kleenex and a shoulder.
Good Oral Hygiene

The other day while I was working on the blog, Gaven was playing with his train set in his playroom. Then I realized how quiet he had been....never a good sign. So I went looking around the house and found him sitting on our bathroom counter brushing his teeth with the faucet running. He now has gotten so tall he can pull him self up onto the counter no problem. But at least he has good oral hygiene.

Sunday Drive to Galveston

On Sunday we decided to go for a drive to Galveston. Our first stop was the beach to show Gaven the water. He liked it at first then it started to get a little too close for comfort. Maybe he
was just trying to act
cool with Daddy, but when Mommy showed up he begged me to hold him. But then when we were leaving he cried because he wanted to stay. After that we went to the Rainforest Cafe to eat lunch. It started out great until the restaurant went dark and the simulated thunder and lightening began. Gaven wasn't to happy about that, but he loved his shrimp scampi and the rest of the jungle experience. After lunch we went to The Strand for a little ice cream and looked at the cruise ships. We found out fast that The Strand is not as fun in the middle of the day when you are not bar hopping. But all and all it was a fabulous Mayfield family day.

Future Rock Star

Adam has a new video game called Guitar Hero. You play the guitar in sync with the video and music to gain points. Adam and Poppy played it for hours while Gaven watched in amazment. The next morning when everyone was still asleep I found Gaven downstairs with this guitar pretending to rock the house. The following weekend he finally got to see a real live band at his aunt Becky's b-day party. He never left the dance floor. Wednesday, June 6, 2007
Visit to the Big "D"
We (Me, Gaven, Memo, Mimi and Poppy) spent last week in Dallas visiting Stacey, Michael and the kids. Gaven had a blast playing with his cousins morning to night. Even though it rained all
weekend we managed to keep all 6 kids entertained. Dave and Busters was a huge hit! Everyone had a blast. It didn't matter how loud anyone screamed or how fast they ran around, it
was already a zoo before we got there.Logan and Gaven had a blast playing together. Guns, swords and light sabers were the hot toys this weekend. I tried to hide all of the weapons but they always found them. The funniest pair to watch is Megan and Gaven. They argue like brother and sister.
Gaven's Last Day at School
Even though Gaven only attended for 6 weeks he had a blast at Mother's Day Out. His teachers just fell in love with him....but who hasn't. The little boys in his class told Gaven he was there best friend, too cute. And the little girls always wanted to sit with him. This picture was taken on his last day of school, what a big boy!

New Agent in town!
I am pretty sure I have already told everyone I know or have recently met but just in case...... I passed my Texas Real Estate Exam last week! On the first attempt just in case anyone was wondering. I am very excited about my new adventure.
"Big Boy" Haircut!
I took Gaven for a "Big Boy" haircut yesterday! He did great. No tears, no kicking, no screaming, nothing like when I cut his hair. The place was really cute. They have a play area and a video game station.
He got to pick out his own movie (Cars what a shocker!) and watch it while having a blast sitting in the red fire truck. He was such a wonderful little customer. He now has a cool dude haircut instead of a my mom doesn't have her beauty license haircut.
Ode to Carrie
After reading my friend Carrie's blogs she has inspired me to create my own. I love the way she can easily share stories of her wonderful new little boy, Camden, with her friends and family. After all the hundreds of emails I send to everyone daily about my sweet little angel, I figured this would just be the icing on the cake. So please forgive my typos and punctuation mistakes I am sure I will have many. Just keep in mind I will be doing this with Gaven either sitting on my lap, pulling me off my chair to play or jumping on the guest bed behind me. So thank you my dear friend for the great idea. I can now do what I am so great at......bragging about GAVEN!
